It's good, but strikes me a jam jar with some holes in the lid does the same job with less faff.

True, but this looks easier to light, and possibly a little less fragile in your pack. I might have to have a go at making one of these, problem is I don't drink, and those I know who do aren't wine drinkers, or a least in such little quantities.

Love it,:) cheap ,home made and it looks great, and if you know the trick of how to cutting glass with a burning string you could even make that outdoors without the electric cutting wheel, I will defiantly try making one of those on my next coastal camp-foraging trip.
Knowledge is power and this old dog just learned a new trick.

I too will have a go at this, you can use a jar, but you can also buy the real thing, personaly I think its about the skills some one has to be able to make things like this.
