Got sent these on an email today

Apparently the bear attacked whilst he was asleep in his tent, he managed to break free and reached for his rifle.

the actual polar bear attack happened September 2003. the attack took place near the Arctic village of Kimmirut in Nunavut, the northernmost territory of Canada,
not in the Yukon Territory or Alaska.

The victim of the mauling was an Inuit hunting guide by the name of Kootoo Shaw

See! Can't trust those bears no matter how cuddly they look. The bu***rs sneak up on you when you're asleep.
Mind you He wouldn't want to wake me up in the middle of the night,I'd do worse than shoot him.
I have no fear whatsoever of bears,We don't get them in Wales, probably change my mind if we did. LOL

I dropped the last photo, if it's unrelated it's best not there.

You've got to think that guy is lucky, he's lucky to have had a beating and not a proper slash or bite.

Good to be put in our place occasionally and reminded we are not alone at the top of the food chain.

If the bear had got inside the tent the story would have ended differently.

Pothunter.
the bear did get inside the tent, but for some unknown reason stopped at merely squeezing the guys neck, before ripping off his scalp and then bouncing on the guys chest four or five times. the injured man Kootoo Shaw didn't have a rifle, and the bear was shot later by one of the three hunters that Kootoo was guiding
