I still remember the first time I listened to the Velvet Underground and Nico album, I listened to it again and again...

It's on again now.

I'm 72 next month. I'd never heard of Lou Reed until today. Funny how many people I never heard of in the 60's seem to be more famous today than they were at the time. But then there was so much talent around then.

I'm 57 (last week) and I hadn't heard of him either. After looking him up though, I've definitely heard of his music.

There is now but sadly you need to look for it. Mainstream media tends to only broadcast top selling stuff and a lot of talent is left it its wake.

Thank goodnes for Jools Holland and his show which mixes all sorts of music together. OT a lot of his shows are on youtube if you've missed them

It's not all about the talent though. Maybe it's my age Rik but it just seems like there was an energy and a mood in the 60s that's missing now.
