I'm looking for abit of advice. I'm looking for a new bag I currently have vango boulder 35. Lk70 and bergaus viking jr which I love so I'm looking for something similar but with more options for attaching to outside but no idea what to look at

I have stated that they are not included. The Salient doesn't have zips to accept side pouches but can be fitted to the compression straps as in the pic. The pic above has the Lowe Alpine side pouches fitted which have tunnel loops.

Sorry misunderstood me there. (I'm crap at wording) I did read they weren't included it was a general query on how they attach but cheers its on compression straps

Ah no worries mate. It's damn hard to express something in writing sometimes.
Much depends really on what you want from a rucksack. Are you carrying a lot of weight, are doing a lot of walking, do you need a military style pack or would a civvy style be better for your needs.
Do you need side pouches or can you manage with just a single storage area. How big do you need it to be.

Lots of factors to be considered when buying.

@singe1986: You'll never regret it if you get yourself a Lowe Alpine like the one above; top quality, top comfort and will compress down to 40-ish litre size when not carrying much weight/volume. An adjustable back system second to none, and pockets/straps both sides for axes, poles etc., plus a truly great waistbelt...........what's not to like?
