can anyone help me find a post that had a picture of a stand that someone made for a kelly kettle a friend said that he saw it a few days ago.

no sorry,
he said it had a 3 legged stand that went on the base to keep it off the ground

I know there's an article in the latest Bushcraft Magazine (not to be confused with the Bushcraft and Survival Skills Magazine you get in WH Smith) that had a 'how to make a Kelly Kettle stand' feature exactly like you've mentioned.
