as title please chaps

i recently dug a wetterlings axe out that i'v not used for donkeys years. while in hibernation the haft has warped slightly and it just feels wrong and i know i'll never use it again as it is

i cant remember the model of the top of me head but its about the same as a GB small forest axe. trekking axe maybe?
anyway, since it wont get used as it is. i'v a fancy to hang a 13" haft to it....just for the sake of it really and add a compact but relatively heavy little chopper to the collection

to that end i thought i'd ask on here for your prefered axe helve suppliers, as i can well imagine it being a slightly oddball size

any help greatly appreciated........adam

what a fine and generous offer mate, well above and beyond the norm

i'v a pretty decent woodworks/hardware shop local to me. but tbh i didn't have much faith in them having anything suitable

plus i did imagine there would be a web site somewhere with a good selection for a fussy bleeder (me) to choose from

thanks again though fella

If the handle is still sound and its only flaw being warped then its very easy to straighten out.

Ash trees have proven a good source of axe handles.

aye, i know mate but i'm not really up for making one atm in all honesty

one of the reasons i'm after re-sizing the handle on it is that the SFA size axe is my least used size, plus i have a GB SFA anyways lol

thanks for all the suggestions chaps. it looks like my best option is a standard faithfull/hardware store type handle and "fancy it up" meself
i was kinda hoping there was a site i didn't know about with all sorts of axe handle porn for me to drool over and choose between

i'll have to take a few pics before and after when i do it.

thanks again......adam
