Medicinal Plants Study Week
An exploration of written and illustrated material on medicinal plants from the first century
AD to the present day in libraries and archives in London. It is hoped to include visits to
the herbaria/libraries at Kew and the Natural History Museum, the Wellcome Institute, the
Linnean Society and the Society of Apothecaries. There will also be visits to herb
gardens, with practical plant identification sessions and talks on the history of plant
names and illustration. This will be of special interest to practitioners using plants, as well
as those keen to appreciate more about the history of botany and medicine.
