Mequite and I have been discussing making a sauce from only Lemon Aji chillis for at least a year. Today I had both the chillis and the time

Just looked up the chillis and the description was...

"IF THERE WERE A CHILE TO TASTE LIKE SUNSHINE, THIS WOULD BE IT."

Doesn't say where they are on the Scoville scale though :(

What a stunning colour that is. Way out of my league heat wise but lovely to look at.

Sent via smoke-signal from a woodland in Scotland.

Nicely done :D

Which respirator did you wear during the cooking?

it's not that hot but I bet anything airborne could have interesting effects on moist orrifices ...

Its ouch compared to supermarket chillis (normally Fresno) but mild compared to Nagas or Ghost. No hotter than many commercial hot sauces and tastier for sure.

I think its nice Steve, tangy almost and bags of citrus. Want a lickle bottle?

Ouch???

50,000 scoville units for a chili is on the extremely mild side of taste when compared to the ones that do make you go ouch :)

Depends on your taste buds... I find Tabasco sauce hot, and whats that in comparison? 5-6000?

Still... given the fact that I find 700 hot, I'm not sure how I'd cope with 50,000.

I'm the same with curries... always go for a really mild curry... can't cope with the hotter varieties.
