Found an uncarved spoon blank in a drawer, so having not carved a spoon for a while, i grabbed the tools and set to.

The spoon is in Lime and whilst it's not the most resilient of woods it works well, i have a Lime spoon in the kitchen that's been used on a regular basis for three or four years and it's still going strong.

This particular one has a carved octagonal handle and the entire spoon has an off the knife finish, it was carved with the Mora 2/0 and Ben Orford spoon knife pictured, the wood also shows some amazing compression grain that i have tried to show as best i can, in real life the whole spoon ripples in the light as you move it around.

All in all a pleasant carve on this damp, grey Friday afternoon.
