Leftover Birch

I had a small piece of Birch leftover from my knife making kit. I decided to cut an Army firesteel in half and make a matching firesteel birch handle to go with my knife.

Lol, to be sure. Just thought that a longer FS would be held safer on the sheath and you'd get more sparks off it

I'm sorry mate but I don't know what that is. The Kit say's Birch Handle block. someone said it was curled birch??

Calibanzwei, to be honest I didn't want to buy a firesteel for the birch and as I had a spare Army firesteel I used that.

it looks like a Birch burl to me or is that the same as curly, however spalted is a toxic funge in wood.

THanks. Sorry I haven't been on for a while.. Yes it was drilled and epoxyed then rubbed and tung oiled..
