Was given a couple of pairs with worn out soles `can you use the leather`?

I have no ideas for bits that small!

Any sugesstions?

(at least I have two pairs of decent laces now...)

Dorset for good...!!
Probably not a lot of good to you, but I made a very acceptable holster for my Valtro 9mm pistol
from a boot that the sole had come adrift from when I was in Egypt.....

Depends on the quality of the leather whether or not it's worth trying to use it. Remember too that you can sew pieces together like a patchwork to make larger items.

When I was a youngster we used to use the tongues from old boots to make the pouches for our catties. Ah, the memories! The local shop even sold 1/4" square elastic specifically for catapults too. We knew it was old stock because it was priced in shillings and pence!
