Leather free Boots

Guys.
I am a Vegan and looking for leather free boots.
Does anyone own a pair they can give me info on that have an outlet in the UK.
I did find a pair at a certain shop that sounds like Mountain Warehouse but the soles are so thin I may as well be barefoot !!

Not looking for links to sites as most on the net are either useless or well out of my price range...or in the USA.
Many thanks
Mark.

Look at some of the own brands from Go Outdoors or the karrimor at sports direct they are cheap and usually contain no leather.
I have a pair of Go Outdoors which were left at a Camp, they are comfy enough for me to leave in the car for emergencies, but I haven't worn them in anger.

Are you interested in just leather free, or fully certifiable Vegan, as in the manufacturer knows and can guarantee that the glues they use are fully synthetic?

Sorry, not a vegetarian, less a Vegan, so no direct experience.

For my own interest I did a google search and found one of your unwanted links to a US site. For other people like me, this is a good page to read to increase understanding...http://veganoutdooradventures.com/vegan-hiking-boots/

Thanks Gents, Only one thing I can controll is the make up of the body of the boot which is mentioned on the tounge of the boots lable, glues nowadays are nearly always synthetic but that is as it is in the hands of the Gods.
Would be happy for it to be just leather free and hope the glue is 'friendly' .
Dougie will take a look on the places you mention, thanks both.

I was just about to say Merrell :D

Son2's wearing a pair of their breathable waterproof ones just now and he rates them :D and he's a fussy blighter is our Andrew.
He bought the first pair in Tiso's in Glasgow (worth the extra just to be properly fitted, etc.,) and bought a second on ebay/amazon for half the price

Altberg can make any of their leather boots in Lorica which is a vegan fabric. It costs a bit more though. I've got three pairs of their boots in Lorica and it works well.

Hello Hog,

I have a pair of ethical wares ranger boots (think brown old-style 'scout' walking boots) with vibram sole that are bomb proof, they are around £100 I think.
I've had a couple of pairs of the vegetarian shoes 'patrol' boots that are hi-leg 'leather'/cordura mix, in a military style. Also very solidly made.
If you are moving away from 'leather' style then I use inov8 fell shoes for most things. More chance of picking up a pair in the sale than the specialist veggie makers, too.
