I have been working on one my sheaths and using the article that Dave Budd wrote in a magazine as a tutorial. He says at the end to seal the edges with beeswax using a folder?

I don't know what a folder is or what it looks like and was wondering if anyone can help me with this conundrum. Could I make one or is there something that I could use as an alternative.

Thanks for the help.

the handle of a spoon works just as well - what Dave was describing is also described as a 'bone folder' as they were traditionally made from bone but are often plastic now.... they are used by cardmakers to crease folds nicely ;)

the important thing is that whatever you use is smooth and doesn't have any sharp edges that will catch.

when you use it to rub the edge the friction and heat (combined with a little water, gum traganth or 'spit') lays the fibres down to make a smooth finish
