Large size down sleeping Bags

Hi all,

I am interested in getting a down sleeping bag that takes up less space than my traditional synthetic ones. I will use it for spring through to autumn and drop onto a heavier bag for winter use so 3 season is fine.

My problem is that I am 6' 6" tall and a xxl in size so need something with more space than average. Any recommendations on larger down bags to suit me are welcome.

I'll say it first before someone else... Alpkit's SkyeHigh or PipeDream range are damn good, and do bigger sizes, worth a look maybes.

I'd recommend looking at the Big Agnes range. They do big down bags that are roomy and comfortable. This looks to be a good one. I'm a fan of Big Agnes products which I have picked up when in Canada and the US, however last time I looked they were hard to impossible to get hold of in UK - there is a major opportunity there for someone! I'm told that REI will ship to UK? There is also a number on the Big Agnes site to call for international shipping. But will be a price hit.

They are very popular products in the adventure cycling community which is where I have discovered them. Light enough, good value and durable.

(If anyone does know where to get these products in UK, let us know!)

The nanok endurance range or snugpak services combo's are both roomy. I'm 6'2" and 18st althouh not down the snugpak has a very small pack size

Yes, plus if you go the Snugpak route, there's always the option of an expanda panel.

I'm 6ft 6" and 14 stone wet....

I find the Alpkit Skyhigh is a very room bag, so you should be well. The Pipedream only go's to 6ft 1" (that they have in stock, anyway's)

Really good value and more than capable of keeping you warm. (no connection ect)

Montbell bags have elastic in the baffles which makes them as big as you need. Very good bags, I love mine. 650g, very water resistant and it doesnt mummify me like my other mummy bags.
