I hope you will rememner a while ao James made some blades in o1.
Small bladed ones with a mere 14 cm blade, a 12 cm cutting edge and total around 27 cm long.
Well i got em and have at last finished the pointier of the 2.
i have fittet this one with blackwood and aluminium pins and lanyard courtesy of MIK( thanks mate)
i must admit i can't see what the pics are like, my monitor is screwed and everything looks blury, even the ones that are taken by people who are dig cam literate.
Anyway the sheath is hand sewn 2.2 mm thick leather, wet formed and hardened with a leather hardener. The knife fits tight and snugg. It is also rather sharp.
the tang is extremely tapered which made a challenge for me to fir the scales.
No power tool use on my part as usual. blackwood is goddam hard!
some pics
I have another more rounded blade to make up. think a lighter contrasting wood on the next one. tis might even be someones stocking filler too if i get the sheath sealed and decent pics up.... who knows
