Hi folks, has anybody else noticed a very large occurance of Knopper Gall on English Oaks this year?
For those who aren't sure, it makes the acorns look all misshapen and almost crenellated in form. they are created by a small wasp.
've noticed most of the oaks round me seem to be effected this autumn. As far as i know there are no long term effects but wondered if it's due to the poor weather we've had this year.

Cut down the Turkey oaks from an area and the knopper gall wasps can't complete their life cycle.
That way our native oaks stay unaffected.
