hello all i just want to show you 3 knives iv made, all are saw blades heat treated etc, 1st is bubbinga 2nd is zebrano 3rd stabilized black palmira thanks for looking.

hi alf zebrano is 81/2 inch long 4 inch blade, they all have mustard and vinegar patina thanks for asking.

thanks fellas blades used are sthil saw blades between 2mm and 21/2mm thick. just need to make some sheaths now.

Very nice those , you have got interesting patiana going on there specially on the bottom blade, how did you get that or is it a trick of the lens ?
hi singblister to be honest mate i just got half a jar of mustard and filled it with vinegar and put plenty on the knife, 1st and 2nd didnt have as much vinegar .just pot luck mate.

I have tried that one myself a couple of times but didn't like the result i got , Greg did it on a knife he bought off me as well and made a right mess of it , so you did well with those mate
I tend to just use Ferric to darken the steel if I want to age things now as it gives a consistent result but I might give the old mustard another go one day

cheers mate while it might be true that I made a mess I still kind of like it and I think its going to age well 
I might have another go soon but fear of making a bigger mess of it is stopping me.Greg

I ment the process didnt work very well which was not Gregs fault the mustard was the wrong type and the vinegar was to weak am I just digging a deeper hole for myself here I always put my foot in it , he will blow fire at me next time he comes round
