Probably quite easy to find bits of info on the web, but as a knife addict and hobby maker, here is a first go at some of the terms. The experts can correct me where I am wrong, or my English is lacking

Tang: there are several terms for the different tangs, but a couple of commonly used are: full tang, through tang and partial tang (sometimes hidden tang is used)

The tang refers to the way the knife is shaped and/or attached to the handle. In a full tang the blade steel runs all the way down the knife and usually the full width of the knife (the handle could consist of slabs on either side), a trough tang has a spike runnig through the handle (all the way down but not the full width) and a partial tang has a spike of less than the length and the width of the handle (you can't see the tang on this type of knife, hence it is also refered to as a hidden tang)

Drop point, clip point, spear point, tanto are just blade shapes. should be no problem finding examples on the web

convex grind, single bevel (scandi grind), double bevel, hollow grind are edge types.

The tang, blade style and edge type together should be a fair description of a knife.

Happy knifing,

DUCky

You'd be better off looking at www.BritishBlades.com for this sort of information... it's all there.

Stick tang (hidden) is used in a lot of knives and this is my preference. It's makes a more beautiful knife, IMO. :biggthump
