Hi, I have a lot of wood, over 200 tons in fact, I'm going to be selling Knife Blanks, Pen Blanks and other blanks for turning. I'm looking for a retailer or two to sell these. I have a couple of retailers interested but in order to make the investment pay off I'm looking for a few more outlets. If anyone on here has an on line store and would like to stock such items please get in touch.

Here's a few pictures of some samples.

I can’t help you with retailers so much. I know a few suppliers of scales and blocks, but I haven’t fitted a handle in ages and have lost touch with the knife world a bit.

Mike of MikesKnives hosts an exhibition each year that attracts just the crowd you’re after.

On a side note, I thought Photobucket holding everyone’s photos to ransom was criminal, but once you pay up, they smear their logo on your pictures. What an utter ****take!

I haven’t paid. Tbh I never use it unless it’s on a forum that doesn’t do direct uploads.

Ah fair enough then. I scrapped them when they blanked everyones pics with the ransom note. There’s a direct upload function here, but you may have to pay membership to use it and trade.

They do a traders membership here as someone will be along to inform you of the details probably. Wven with the blurred pictures the wood looks interesting. If this venture looks like a goer you may want to join at that.

Unfortunately I won’t have the time to sell retail it will be too time consuming selling lots of small orders, this is just a side line to my main business which keeps me pretty busy as it is. So I’m looking for retailers, I know it means I will sell for less but if I’m selling in bulk that will keep the time required and admin right down.

Over 200 tons? Over 200 000 kilos??
Where did you get a such huge amount?
How on Earth do you store it?

( I know, so many questions.....)

Edit: ooops, something weird with this thread??

Not sure what you mean, I didn’t mention £200. I mentioned I had 200 tons of wood. I would sell £200 worth of wood as that would be worth while, I just can’t go selling individual blanks here and there. I just don’t have the time for all the posting and packing and responding to messages etc. Once I get a decent load dry I might offer some batches up for sale if I don’t find a retailer.

That specialist timber link might be of some use to you, they are based just by Rheged, near Penrith and sell a lot of blanks for turning.
Its also called G&S tools,
Seems a decent bloke every time I've been on there.
