This is an old option. Dave is running out of fresh material.
But then, a lot of the channels seem spent.

My SECRET bug out camp posted on social media.
There hasn’t been any new ‘ how did I get along without ‘ the latest surplus fad ( Vladimir would like his plash palatkas and shovels back, spasiba) lately.
I have noticed two’ladies’ from Russia and Sweden doing Bushporn. They go out in skintight outfits that are hardly examples of layering, do an obligatory partial disrobing and a salutary demonstration of starting a fire with metal match and cooking some cordon blue meal. They have a handful of episodes, 300,000 subscribers and Survival Lilly fans
In a turmoil.

I have to admit that it was a new technique to me! Useful to know about, too, as I've always been slightly wary of thumping the back of my blade with a heavy club; this a least avoids that direct impact.

The method puts exactly the same load on the knife and, in my mind, with less 'feel' and less control on some of the potential point loads and twisting on the blade and tang.

I do use a wedged axe upside down with a baton to split kindling though; much safer :)

That is my take on it. I'd be wary of getting too heavy handed with this method but otherwise it's a good idea.

I noticed one of the bushporn videos but didn't watch it I might add. Seems inevitable after quite a few channels have flirted with the concept over the years.

I find it insulting to all the longtime YouTube community- Canterbury included. They spend years building up a library and subscribers. Then some recipient of the lucky Genes club shows up like a community college freshman
Failing English lit while dancing at the local nudie club making more money than that professor trying to explain Hamlet. Oh, the one with Cyrillic links? Started a fire with heavy paper and the magic fire steel. Sparks and embers mix so well with a summer forest.

I'm quite relieved that uncle Dave doesn't make nudie vids! I suppose there's a niche audience for everything...
