Hello all,
I've been pottering about this forum for a while now and decide to register. Mostly so i can see all pictures and so i know whichthreads i've read. I'm reasonably active on the Dutch bushcraftforum, i'm not sure how much i'll post here, time will tell.
A little bit about myself:
I'm 32 years of age and have been camping all my life. Over the last 10 years my interest for bushcraft has steadily grown and i suppose i could say i'm a bit af an enthousiast by now. I particulary enjoy fabricating my own gear, like woodburning stoves, knives and all sorts of practical bits and bobs.
For a Dutchman my grasp of the English language is above the average of my fellow countryman, as i used to live in the UK quiet a couple of years. I spent 4 years in south London after which i've moved to lovely Perth in Scotland. I've enjoyed Scotland very much, unfortunatly i couldn't afford to stay any longer then 2 years. Originally i went for a short stay with relatives in London and ended up getting employed as a would-be-treesurgeon three days after i arrived.
Now i am employed as a Arboricultural Advisor (European Treetechnician) in the Netherlands and share my camping escapades with my wife and three childern. My 7 year old step-daughter enjoys lighting the fire for us bushcraftstyle (magnesiumstick). Our twin boys are a bit to young (1,5 years old) for bushcraft, but they certainly enjoy camping. They eat a lot of wild food, wether we agree or not.
That's it in a nutshell. I look forward to learn from this wonderfull forum an i hope i might add something aswell.
Taa, Jorn
