Kiddies Backpack recomendations

I have 12 year old and 9 year old girls and am looking for a suitable backpack so they can carry their own detritus and sleeping gear.

I've looked around but don't really know what I should be looking for?

My kids use 'Karrimor' Hot Rock daysacks...

Big enough for a bit of overnight kit etc.... I end up carrying all of the group kit and most of the food....

Any idea of size? 30 ltr? Sounds a bit big for the kids but I guess I need to pop in and take a looks at them.

I looked briefly into this - was going to get one of these:
