Give me a call in the morning mate, hectic day tomorrow, need to make sure I'm in to see you.

Looks pretty good mate, definitely something to have a play with :)

Sorry for the thread hijack John, my bad :o

Cheers,

Stuart.

No worries - glad I could assist someone in getting their rocks together...

It sounds to me that anyone coming to the Moot from a flinty area could do folks a lot of good if they bring a bootload of the biggest flints they can unearth! :)
A great spot for meeting and distributing flint to the flint poor.
I would suggest that as flint is found for free and would cost nowt but transport costs flint is given away freely or for minimal trades.....

I tried it once and ended up with some nice bits for my fire kit! Breaking and swearing, I have that down but as far as a completed arrow head......afraid not!

I have a question. If someone wanted to get their grubby hands on about 2 dozen small arrow heads of about an inch or so in size; Heads that didn't have to be perfect, all they needed was a pointy bit and a general shape. So,,, say,,, seconds that might be discarded otherwise or practice pieces that were made "just because" or made "to keep a hand in". And if this hypothetical person wanted them because they have neither the flint nor the knapping skills to get them otherwise and because I'm not paying £10 bloody quid for ONE head on ebay that I could make myself in under an hour if I could get the DAMN flint to practice on,,,,,, *cough* ,,,,, erm,,, I meant this hypothetical,,, person ,,,
ERM,,,,,ok, you got me. It's for me. Long story short, How much should I look to pay for some heads if they are less than perfect and/or does anyone have any to sell Or, better yet, Does anyone know where I can aquire some flint in the Greater Manchester area?
