Coiled basket and braided cord

Hi Patrick, those must have taken a fair bit of time to make, but the rewards are well worth it.Lovely work as ever,I managed to gather some reeds which i have never tried before,so i will be starting another coiled basket soon.Have you ever tried Pine needles as the filling for the coils as per the native American way?.

Cheers Stuart.

Thanks folks for the kind comments. Yes Stuart I made a couple from Pondarosa pine needles which are quite long (4-6 inches) when I was in America a few years ago.:)

Cheers Patrick,i found some pines of some sort, with needles about 4 inches long down at Silloth last summer,i did,nt have the heart to pick them up as they were in the middle of the town, but we will probably back down there this year,so i will be sweeping the street for the needles this time around :).

Cheers Stuart.
