The company i bought my sword from use Fed Ex to ship their products as they are really high value items. Fed Ex have a no weapons policy though so the company describe their swords as replica, antique artwork for display only. which apparently means they cant get done for telling porky pies. I actually had to contact the customs clearing house at heathrow and give them more details before they would release it. once i had told them it was a japanese sword they were fine about it. The girl in the office even helped me get it into the cheapest duty category.
