A few pictures from about 3 weeks ago, on a rainy sunday close to our garden. Sometimes you just have to go outside and take a close look, and everywhere beautiful and fascinating things turn up!

Just natural light, nothing else. I am always amazed on how good the little Nikon Coolpix AW100 handles macro shots.

Great pictures from a point and shoot very impressive.
Its great nature when you take the time to look closely I spent 15 minutes this afternoon just watching a bumble bee at the plant by the front door go about its business.
I know slugs are a pest and love my veg but there just so comical to look at I could never hate them

Yes, slugs kan be a real pest. We have a veg garden, too, and in some years they eat all the salad and zucchini and cabbage But I still hate to kill them, and outside the garden they are quite fascinating with their strange eyes!

Wonderful pictures.

The slug is a very much maligned animal, but those big brown or black Arion species mainly feed in dead and decaying material. It is the much smaller and pale Netted Slug that gardeners should hate, not the big guys. Google it.

The ladybird looks like it might be an invasive Harlequin ladybird, which is now pretty much everywhere.

Wonderful longhorn beetle too.
