I'm on the scrounge folks. :o
I need some jet for one of the activities I'm preparing for Historic Scotland. I know it naturally occurs in E. Yorkshire but is it available the way flint is or are all of the sources controlled?

Cheers,
Toddy

I need pieces, don't mind how small, that I can show children. It was traded all the way up into Scotland in the Neolithic, Bronze and Iron ages.
It would be excellent to get enough of they raw stuff that I could have a couple of hand made beads too, the originals are flat or very rounded, while the Victorian ones I can buy are usually faceted, and that's wrong for the period.

Thanks for the help folks,
Cheers,
Toddy

Hello Toddy, I will have a word with my brother tonight and see if I can get a bit off him. We used to live in Whitby and my brother used go off Jetting quite regularly and he did bring some with him when we moved down here. If you can tell what size you are after then I can check with him if he has any that he will spare.

Nooky that would be so good. Any small piece that he could spare would be excellent......a bit I could be making a bead from maybe?

Cheers,
Toddy
