Just collected some, and oddly it tastes more like green cabbage than garlic? Its a positive ID, just had a good look-see.

Is it a little too early (was flowering) or is that a normal taste?

I'm getting together the ingredients for a wild salad on saturday, should be fun!

Sounds like you get a very mild one there!
Mild garlic/mustard flavour - not as strong as ramsons - is normal

The mustards are from the brassica family so it's hardly surprising it tastes like cabbage.

I found a description shortly after the post mentioning it was from the same family as the cabbage, which explains it!
