Got a perscription and the chemist told me I have to pay for it as my benefit is not on the form.

Has anyone found this?

I think it depends which type of ESA you are on. Income based prob = free prescriptions but not contribution based.

You should find all you need here: http://www.nhs.uk/NHSEngland/Healthcosts/Pages/Prescriptioncosts.aspx

As mentioned, if your ESA is contribution based, you have to pay for the prescription, that being said, once your NI contributions are used up, you should be transferred to Income Based ESA in which case, you'll qualify for free prescriptions. In the meanwhile, you can look at the LIS (low-income scheme) that may give you reduced prescription costs (http://www.nhs.uk/NHSEngland/Healthcosts/Pages/nhs-low-income-scheme.aspx)

Went in the jobcentre today and they told me, yes I do get it free, as it is income based.

They are sending me a letter and an application form for the card you have these days.
