I bought that book, "the secret life of trees" in the summer of '07. You are right it is extremely interesting and filled with hundreds of fascinating facts. However I warn you now though, it can be rather a heavy read in places..... Still a good read though!!

I know what you mean about heavy reading Elessar. 'The History of the countryside' is a bit heavy going in places too. The abridged version is much lighter. I'll be getting the secret life of trees as my next book purchase on all the recommendations thanks for letting us know.
