Today was a bit of an admin / tidy up day for me...no school groups as it's half term, so a bit of peace and quiet.
I was just about to set to and tidy up our outdoor stores area when something caught my eye...movement where there shouldn't have been any. on closer inspection, I found a Tawny owl, taking shelter under one of my target trestles. As I moved in to take a closer look, it moved away...so I did the decent thing and backed away.
Having used a local falconry expert for some of our activity days, I had a trusted contact with knowledge to turn to. Unfortunately, he was on holiday but did provide me with an alternative contact who said she could be with me in 20 minutes.
To cut a long story short, the bird was a female Tawny owl with an injured leg. Fingers crossed that she makes a full recovery...
