Err the second loaf is cooling....

the first loaf has disappeared along with some olives and Ardennes pate. I'm blaming the "bread mice" :)

I think they look like Jewish breads. We made those once at school they were good so I asked a huge piece and then I ate myself nauseaus and didn't want no more!

:D

Well we tried a new cranberry sauce recipe made with home made elderberry port yesterday plus cinammon nutmeg and allspice....and a few chilli flakes. Nice!

Today was bread. Tomorrow is probably gingerbread men....or maybe homemade stuffing since the Sage needs pruning. She is threatening a melted snowman cake too

Lovely to play with the children ......even when they are adults!

....will she explain the honey loaf recipe to me? Its hers not mine!

She enjoys it here -

You want to be warm? Chop logs

You want stuffing with chicken? Cut some Sage and the onions are in the shed.

I think it makes a nice change from her masters but indoctrination?

To instruct in a body of doctrine or principles.
...yep I think so. I'm delighted she not only gets it ....but enjoys getting it!:D

Red, if you have sage, try adding it chopped to a basic scone mix. Served hot out of the oven, with butter, it is amazing. Works cold too.

In fact, most herbs work well like that, though rosemary can be a bit tough.

I have so much fresh sage that some of it is going to get composted :) Rosemary....well we have a hedge of rosemary round the gooseberry bed!

Quite like the idea of sagey scones though....

I like the rosemary in focaccia....I do strip the stalks but somehow the baking seems to soften it

Gingerbread men today :)

Now some needed holes punching in them to hang from ribbons.

After a little trial and error, we found an empty .357 magnum cartridge is a required tool for making gingerbread men with children. Of course this led to some slightly odd decoration
