In the woods right now with a hennessy delux and no idea how to fit this 3/4 length underblanket to my hammock... And ideas or resources you can point me to?

hi teepee you need shock cord threaded longways and widthways put a ajustable loop in all the ends of the shockcord put all the loops from one end on a karabina and repeat the other end and attach binas hammock rings or binas whichever setup youve got hope this helps regards dave

Yes I do have the shock cord but have difficulty accessing the site on my iPhone. I have somewhat rigged it, and it seems to be nice and warm, so it's achieved it's result!

here's the top... That seems to work ok

Thats a big gap between the UQ and the hammock, try and bodge it up and sort some shock cord later. I'd pass some weak string through the tabs and tie this to the shockcord. If its not tied to the shockcord, it may damage something as it has no give when you get in.

It's forecast warm for the night (for Jan anyway) , so you should live through the night . :)

No this was just an experiment! I tried out the underblanket and the hitchcraft tensioners before a camp in a couple of weeks!

My friend steve tried out his hammock too

He didn't get repel rings he got 8mm thick Galvanised steel chain links and rigged it up using those and karabiners

He's 20st which is one of the reasons he went for the Hennessy!

We also got our friend Becky a hammock as well

You need to run the bungee from the red corner tabs out to your hammock suspension points. This will snug the UQ close up to your hammock.
You need some tension in the system to keep the gaps nice and tight. You must use bungee otherwise tension on the UQ may result in damage. It needs to move around as you move around.

The side tabs can be rigged to your Hennessy guy tabs.

On my WBBB

In both these pics bungee runs out to the caribiners on the end of my hammock. Pulling the end bungees through the cord lock will allow you to synch (sp?) the UQ closed. If its too hot you can adjust to allow a little venting.

I put some cord in the long side channels and then just hook them over the bundle where my WBBB is gathered, I've got some tiny velcro loops which I wrap around just to keep everything in place.

Cheers, you have to keep things simple with people like me ;)

Even with rigged as I'd put above, it was surprisingly warm. I'd rigged the underblanket to lie asym with me, so I'm not 100% sure I could put it exactly like you have... I've ordered some more shock cord so I can have a play next week when I'll actually be camping!

2nd time lucky! I've used a couple of karibiners, some shock cord (White was the only option at the time!) and bobs your uncle sorted.

Posting from a nice warm fire probably no where near you!

Hi, well after that pic there was a twanging noise and my hastily rigged system slipped under my bum down to my legs, which were toasty. Slipped out of bed, retied and it was good. Two weeks ago I did another sub zero camp -2.3'c. Similar sort of problems with it slipping about. I was in a 2-3 season sleeping bag and only my legs were a bit cold. If I'd had a more sensible sleeping bag it'd probably have been much warmer!

Saw some designs for a fabric suspension system which I'm going to sketch up and give to the wife to make.
