One site I use for plant id when I get stuck is http://www.botanicalkeys.co.uk/flora/index.html
Great site but I'm stumped on this one.
The flower is similar to purple toadflax but the leaf is different with a square stalk, height is over 60cm stumped at the moment as none of my books seem to list it either. Habitat is on the edge of a meadow/hedgerow. There is a very faint smell similar to hedge woundwort.

EDIT no idea why the site rotates images to landscape?

Thanks for confirming the ID, most images and books show flowers at different heights along the stem like hedge woundwort, as these are only at the top this threw me and along with the flower formation I initially dismissed this as not marsh woundwort as it was not near water or a very wet meadow.
