Went down to the woods yesterday afternoon, set up the tarp and got a fire going.

I then opened a can of soup and poured it into my billy.
When it was heated up I realised I had forgotten to bring a spoon.

It turns out that fashioning a crude bowl shape out of the tin lid and wedging a stick into the ring-pull made for quite a good emergency spoon.

What other otherwise useless items have folks used in desperation?

Soup? just drink it, stir food with a stick, let it cool and eat with your fingers; never lost a knife, fork and spoon yet though, you spork fans would be stuffed I guess and have to make something.

How the hell do you eat soup with your hands? Are they webbed or something?

Oh..................you're from Wales...........

I suppose you could dip your finger in it over and over and lick off the soup. Might take a very long time though.

Improvised items? Ived used my coat as an underblanket and spare clothes as pillows. And most things can be eaten with sharpened sticks.

And it's 'you're' not 'your' :p

Pretty nifty idea, I'd say.

Climbing a mountain in NZ I strained a tendon in my knee, couldn't put any weight on it. With my trusty SAK managed to cut a sapling with the saw and make an emergency walking stick. 8 hours latter managed to limp off mountain.
