Whilst inspecting the hole made by .223 round on a hillside (don't ask), i noticed it had uncovered some white maggot-larvae looking 'things'. Any ideas? It's a sheep field, North Wales...

the best i can come up with is of the genus ''delia''. this is the group of flies (including onion and carrot flies) whose larvae feed upon starch contained within a plants roots and tubers.
