I was making a rather nice job of a sheath for a wee commission , i was at it on and off today ,I took it into the house to wet form it ,i thought i had almost dried it out ,i put the knife in ,perfect fit then i noticed there was a bit of moisture on the blade so i stuck it in the oven big mistake I COOKED IT i never use the oven to dry them out and i probably wont again .

Leave it out on the bunker in your kitchen overnight.

That won't soften it but the Shoemaker's Elves will probably thank you for it...
