Your Dad is a genius. Now i need; another oven with timer, a second car, another car for my wife, another radio/cd/record player, a summer and winter studio with wall clock. Fortunately, the boiler, computer and phones adjust themselves so i won't have to buy more of them. Now I only have the sundial to find a solution for.
Why not just accept its an hour fast and adjust the time with a simple bit mental arithmetic. Alternatively at least you wont be late.

Agree with the second paragraph, but I had a long Sunday when I looked at my analogue watch and got up to take the dog out. Wondered where everyone was!
There’s no way I’d get in the habit of knocking an hour off each time I looked.

A small bar of chocolate is the answer. Cheap, totally non stressful and all carried out remotely while I can be busy doing nothing.
The only other ingredient is a 6 year old Great Grandson who is my computer consultant and all things 21st Century problem solver. Ovens, clocks, watches? Pah!! if he can reach it he can change it.

Probably no need for that if one waits a few years, you just tell it to change.
Annoyingly, that Casio above is one of those that picks up time signal automatically, and you’ll see it’s running in DST on the display. So, there’s no way I’m learning how to do the button presses to sort that out. I ran it with Paris as my location last time I tried changing it, it’s too much hassle, I’ll just wear something else for 6 months when solar watches don’t see much daylight anyway always under sleeves in the dark.
How many of those people actually use the timer on their oven, or need it as yet another clock? A short length of black tape would save a lot of life's precious hours!
Get a casio royale for £19.99 from argos. It is a world time watch and if you set your main time as your region then other iirc 6 other zones as needed.
However the clever part is your main time zone allows you to switch to daylight savings time, DST shows. Then in spring switch to DST then back to GMT/UTC/LONDON time in autumn.
The other option is any casio waveceptor watch. Or there's £79 g-shock watch at argos. It has 6 band auto time adjustment to the nearest atomic clock signal every night. It will auto change according to the nearest radio signal iirc rugby is ours.
Both good casio watches highly regarded despite being cheap.

I've somehow acquired a G shock watch but have no idea how to use it, and think it needs a new battery. = past my skill level.

From a web posting elsewhere "The Anthorn clocks are disappointing, in that it can take them up to a day to correct themselves, because (I think) the signal in darkest Berkshire is rather weak. NTP can only be relied upon to be within a few hundred mS, but that's better than the odd minute or so for the crystals..."

I don't use the timer on the cooker but I often glance at the clock when I've taken off my watch because I've been washing and rinsing things in the sink.
You are correct in the Anthorn, Cumbria being the new NPL signal. Up to 1986 it was still the Rugby clock with MSF signal from a site in Rugby. This stopped in 1986 but the manual I got from Casio with my last and only waveceptor casio watch was after this date still referred to Rugby time signal.
It worked very well back then but AIUI the newer Casio 6 band watches are a lot better and adjust theit time a lot quicker for example when the clocks change. There are videos posted on the casio reddit showing the clock change happening.
Batteries are easy to change. Unscrew back, take out the gasket seal, lever out the battery, replace and then google how to get the contact working before replacing the gasket, the back and the screws. REset the time again. Simples!!!
If you have any issues then there will be a video online for your exact watch model to watch to learn how to do it. Failing that there are so many places that will change the battery for you. All they do is the above, often even down to googling how to do it!!!

This is usually a little slot next to the batter with the letters "AC" in a box, usually that you stick something thin into and lever something across towards the battery. The more times you do it the better you will get however if you are changing them a lot you either have a large casio collection and cycling through the bettery change of allll of them or you have a dodgy watch or "new" battery or you put the old one back in. It does happen!!
Personally I just go a few hundred metres up the road and get my local hardware store do it for me for a charge of £5.95 including the right battery!!
