In my outdoors kit I have safety pins of various sizes, a couple of buttons, needles including a large curved one, heavy duty thread for kit and lighter stuff for clothing as well as a couple of patches of cotton for patching.

At home I have a small tin with more sewing kit and another tin of cord locks, buckles, bits of zips for more meaningful repairs.

I have a little repair kit that I keep in my bag. It gets used quite a lot for making temporary fixes on the job, often used in conjunction with the swiss army knife. It's looking a bit sparse now, need to re-stock the cable ties, selection of screws and nails, lighter and a few other bits.

Got me out of a fix recently when my trousers split on the first job of the day.

My mother loves turned wood and bought me this probably about twenty five years ago, turned out of a single piece of wood.

In the centre is a tube big enough for six needles, over that fits a piece that's a kind of double bobbin for two kinds of thread, on that piece sits a thimble and then the cinder making the other half of the egg.
