I dread to think how many kilos of wood shavings i've lobbed over the years, i do tend to keep a couple of bags of nice long ribbons from my planes though, makes excellent tinder.

I've a bag of small gypsy flowers under my desk here that i've made for lighting my Kelly Kettles/small wood stoves with when i'm able to get back outside again.

That is a great idea. I will keep all the wood chips in plastic bags and seal them. Will keep them dry for lighting.
