I think to be honest , the Artist will find you , and by that I mean you may see tattoos out and about on people and find a style you like and they are are slightly different.

Beyond that - and assuming you ( think ) you know what you want - find all the tattoo parlours in your area and do searches on their work and the employed artists.

If you know what tattoo you want? and where you want it on your body? you jus need to find an artist and style to do it justice.

No don’t do it, after a week you will wish you chose something else. Then the sagging issue a friend got one on his back shoulder when a teen, now a bit lower.
I deliberated until I was 57, initially inspired by the giant in Time Bandits, it ended up nothing like that at all. It’s small, bright orange and purple and I really like it. At 57 I felt ok about sagging skin.

Looking to have a small Om placed somewhere too, but as before, it’ll happen when it does. I didn’t plan the first or choose the tattooist. I was in Glastonbury and walked past The Twilight Zone. Went in and planned it out with Tom, back the next morning, cost only £30.

I like this Om, but not 100%, so nothing goes anywhere yet.

I bet those grey scale squares are going to be the fiddly bit. Intricate.

I knew someone who asked to have a West Bromwich Albion tattoo around his wrist. He ended up with a West Bromwhich Albion tattoo! The moral being make sure you can both spell when choosing a tattooist.

Soooo, I was looking for audio book readings on YouTube and found a pretty good one of Lord of the Rings, Fellowship of the Ring, but it started where the Hobbits get to Rivendell, and I went looking on the same YouTube channel for earlier and later sections by the same reader. I found something I did not expect! Maybe Tengu will find something interesting. I have a strong suspicion that the examples are created with AI.

1st check out their Google reviews
2nd check out their social media there should be examples of their work
3rd pop in and speak to them, the better shops have less generic samples and concentrate on bespoke works tailored to the individual.
4th if the first 3 are satisfactory, go to the shop you felt the best connection too.

Years ago I popped into a local shops for quotes I chose the cheapest, they had a few good reviews not many overall though. I took in 3 images I wanted incorporating into one work, he did just the bare bones images and nothing more... I had 3 s**t tattoos for a couple of years before I went for a bespoke coverup at much better shop. They also did a custom memorial piece in memory of my mom.

I’ve got 3 tattoos, all in places that don’t get shown off at work etc. I had the idea for my last tattoo so talked to a couple of friends and looked on line. The tattoo artist designed it with me, made suggestions of how it would actually look on the body etc etc so that I was happy with it before it even came to being inked. No idea if they were the cheapest but I felt I could properly trust them.

Instagram seems to be the media of choice for the tattoo studios round here in notts. It gives you a good chance to see some of their range and the sort of work they specialise in.

The one that’s offered a consultation sounds like the way to go, they should be able to help you work the design so that it looks good in real life and represents what you want it to

If you want a tattoo, go get one. Bugger what anyone else says. I'm getting a tattoo in January. Been wanting the tattoo for years and years but just never got round to it. My tattoo idea has never changed in all these years, and I do suppose that that's the key thing with permanent art. Once it's on, you had better like it!
