BIG BIG fan of the Genre myself, myself. Thanks for the review and the thread folks, got many a book to look up now
I watched this the other day after wanting to see it since it's limited release a couple of years back. Ok it's got a budget feel to it but it sort if suits the film and subject material. i really rate it!

Oh yes, the Andromeda Strain is an excellent film. Again given it's age it better than most modern films is Silent Running. A true TEOTW movie. Has to be one of my all time favourite films.

Im sure some of you will remember this powerful, very grim, unflinching, post nuclear war depiction of Britian.

I've read the book (the way I live now). It's pretty good. Not over dramatized, a lot of it is about really simple things like trying to hide food from soldiers - and how it doesn't really matter which side the soldiers are on, they aren't on the side of the civilians.

It would make a crap film, even if done really well.
