How far do I camp from my car? Easy... I don't own a car. More relevant for me is how far do I camp from my home. Sometimes in the garden, half a mile away or a hundred miles away. I too wonder about the term bushcraft. I'm not too sure that term even existed 20 or 30 years ago unless you lived in Africa or Australia. I guess untill the term became popularised with TV programmes I just called it camping. After all whether you build a shelter,hammock, or take a bell and whistle tent you set up a camp. I think you could just as easily call it camp craft. The skill set is greatly different from the bells and whistle tenters tho I did once see someone watching eastenders on their laptop at a bushcraft event.! Hey ho.
