I've got a couple of knives to make very soon and I'm having trouble finding the woods that the customers have requested :(

I need horbeam for a full tang knife, so either a pair of scales or a block I can cut up into scales. This needs to be 2"x6" and the scales will need to be 10mm thick.

Also a piece of hickory for parang. Needs to be 3"x1 1/4"x6"

None of my normal suppliers and sources of wood have these and I am struggling!

If anybody has some wood for sale or trade then pease let me knw ASAP!

thanks

Hi Dave
as mesquite said a replacement pick axe handle or axe handle may be a source of hickory
I may have some hornbeam in the log pile will check tonight , but has only been cut about two months will check tonight so may not be suitable
