I have just made and used my first Hoodoo hone. Firstly, brilliant. Both my gransfors had chips in the edge and I had been meaning to sort them out.
The hone is great and I finished with a stakie sharp ( Jake), all in all an easy razor sharp edge.
The problem is I caused the chip in one axe but my gb wlidlife arrived with a small chip in the edge. Now I should have sent it back but it was a present from my wife and you don't learn how to reprofile an edge unless you practice so I kept it and decided to sort it myself. As you know GB axes have the smiths initals stamped in them so that they are not sent out poorly finished. Mine was made by Mattias Mattson (MM) and when I bought my first GB I was warned against his work as people had experienced problems with his stuff, I didn't get to choose the second one so I got his, but has anyone else had issues with any GB axes and is there any truth in the rumor?
It could also have been damaged by the shop who sold it or it could have been damaged in the post. One thing is that a shop shouldn't send an axe like that anymore than a smith should let it leave the factory.

To clarify it wasn't sold by any of the BCUK members shops but I cannot say 100% which shop it was, I will explain further but I can't name names when I'm not sure.
