Once you have all your gear try getting a big fat ring binder with lots of clear punched pockets. Get a bg red or green one Green is HSE correct but red screams emergency) and put a big first aid kit sign on the front and spine and put it on a convenient shelf rather than the bottom of a bathroom cupboard.
This way when you have an incident, big or small, you can open up the folder and flick through the contents from small to large items which generally links with the size of bandage without emptying a stuffed bag or pouch. Keeps everything tidy and off the ground.
