I thought percolators were more popular but the drip makers were used here to, more so in France though.

Both were popular but the one in the video was the absolute standard in households when I was growing up. Now-a-days it's the electric drip coffee makers. Especially the automatic programmable ones. Something similar to this:



Of course tastes and preferences are constantly changing; even as we speak.

I brew coffee in many different ways including a perc, Gaggia machine (wasted really), Ibrik et al but for me the coffee press is the most often used, I've a stainless steel double walled one I'm taking camping next week for the first time
