hobo fuel

What is the best fuel to use for your hobo stove? what do you guys tend to use? because surely you dont want to be constantly attending to it chucking tiny kindling type sticks in there do you? Maybe things the thickness of a finger? Or is that just what happens with a hobo stove, constant attention?

i try to use pine cones in mine... but generally owt that will fit in the hole and burns....

Hexi, firelighters, dry heather -- whatever will burn. Hobo stoves cook on flames, not coals.

anything that burns really but hard woods are better as they last longer as big as possible that fits in the hole and does not upset the pot stands........
