Hobo fishing rod and pouch: my take

Made a hobo fishing rod and a pouch today. The rod is made from pine and finished with linseed oil and wax. No room for hooks etc in the handle (I couldn't be bovvered), will keep this stuff in a small container on the side. Now I'm going to make a few dobbers, and then I'm ready for the trouts.

The piece of wood was round, yes, but except from the lanyard hole it's made with my Mora, files and sandpaper. The rings on the handle is a spiral; I have always liked to carve those, and this project screamed for it.

Lovely neat job that. Really like the helix, imagine it'll give a better hold on the line. Of course we'll have to see some action shots and the tasty results
