I've just followed a link here from the 'It isn't easy being green' forum. Really chuffed to find you, so thought I'd sign up and say hi.
As I've been messing about outdoors since I was a kid fishing, sailing, canoeing, hiking etc. Discovered Ray Mears books in the eighties and started making bivvies on the south downs. Managed to make fire for the first time by fire bow and drill about four years ago. Absolutely thrilling achievement! Better than catching my first double figure fish!
I now live on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds and am trying to ensure my, now, two year old son is able to form as strong a bond with mother nature as I have. Already had him canoeing, sailing and camping. Though we might wait a couple of years before we start him on more adventurous trips!
Looking forward to chatting with you good folks.
Toodle pip,
Al
